STRUCTURED READING INTERVENTION

Purpose

Orton-Gillingham is a multisensory teaching approach designed to help struggling readers.  It explicitly teaches the connections between letters and sounds and addresses the five essential components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.
